About Blue Water Swimming

Baby & toddler swimming sessions in Chesterfield & Sheffield

Blue Water Swimming started in 2006 after taking my own daughter to baby swimming classes. We have grown from a few classes of babies and toddlers to having swimming lessons every day in three different pools in Sheffield and Chesterfield. As well as baby and toddler classes we have expanded into mainstream children’s swimming lessons, so are able to offer the full service from baby through to children’s swim classes.

Alison Betts

Blue Water Swimming is run by me, Alison Betts. I started Blue Water Swimming in 2006 after taking my daughter to baby swimming classes when she was a few months old. We both thoroughly enjoyed the experience and seeing the benefits, even at that very young age, made me want to invest further not only for my own daughter but for other babies and toddlers.

Likes: Spending time with family, eating chinese food
Dislikes: Ironing

Wendy Hamilton-Butters

Wendy has been teaching with us for a number of years. She started training with us after being a Mum in our baby and toddler classes. Like me she loved the experience of early swimming with her two children and wanted to take it further.

Wendy has always been a keen swimmer, competing in her university years and even now a member of a competitive swim club.

Dislikes: Bad manners

Qualifications

All Blue Water Swimming teachers are fully qualified swimming teachers, with qualifications listed below

  • STA Level 2 Full Certificate in Teaching Swimming
  • STA Level 2 in Baby & Pre-School Aquatic Teaching
  • ASA Level 1 for Teaching Swimming
  • RLSS National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches including Infant Life Support
  • RLSS Lifesaving Certificate
  • Clear Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check in respect of teaching and working with children
